Spotify, the multi-billion streaming music product that is slowly reworking (again) how we think about music has hinted that it intends to look into on demand video.
Not afraid of innovation, the social-networking entwined product wouldn’t look particuarly out of place with a video service. As Business Insider point out, this won’t be the first time we’ve seen this kind of service evolve, with HBO starting out as a movie service.
Most interesting is perhaps not the evolution of Spotify, but what yet another player in the market will mean. The rumoured focus on original programming may start to make consumer choice increasingly confusing at a time when there is already a split between Netflix, HBO (et al) and iTunes for original content.
