Apple’s iCloud is causing a bit of headache for application developers. No stranger to controversy, iCloud is the reboot of MobileMe that was at least intended to kill off a bad reputation.
The developer problem in question is the fact that, well, it doesn’t really work. Developers are receiving piles of complaints about lost data, corrupt data and just flat out bugs with a service that is supposed to form the backbone of Apple app data. Apple on the other hand, are suspiciously silent in developer support towers.
iCloud is becoming an important technology that Apple are pushing developers to implement, but this raises questions as to whether they are prepared and able to support such a critical technology rapidly enough.
